“ICMA Student Chapter Initiatives and Challenges”
Much has been mentioned about the recent interest in developing ICMA Student Chapters at Florida Universities. However, many practitioners aren't familiar with the purpose of these chapters. They know very little about what these chapters do and how practitioners can become involved in these chapters to help prepare the next generation of city and county managers in our state. This webinar will utilize a diverse panel of ICMA chapter participants including an MPA Program Director, a Chapter Advisor, a Chapter Mentor, and a Chapter President. Collectively, they will discuss initiatives at their universities and the challenges they have in creating a successful chapter program. This is a webinar that should be of interest to managers, students, and anyone else interested in preparing the next generation of local government managers and how best to bridge academic initiatives with practitioner goals and vice versa.
