Congratulations to 2024 ICMA Awards Recipients

Congratulations to Lee Feldman, FCCMA Past President, for receiving the Distinguished Service Award. The Distinguished Service Award honors managers who have had stellar careers and have been retired for at least two years.

Lee Feldman’s career spans more than 35 years of service in Florida. Lee was city manager in Fort Lauderdale, Gainesville, Palm Bay, and North Miami, Florida; and assistant city manager, assistant to the city manager, and intern in North Miami Beach, Florida. This recognition is a testament to his unwavering dedication, innovative leadership and a profound commitment to mentorship and professional development.

Congratulations to Judie Zimomra, FCCMA Life Member, for receiving the Academic Award in Memory of Stephen B. Sweeney. Established in the name of Stephen B. Sweeney, the longtime director of the University of Pennsylvania’s Fels Institute of Government, this award is presented to an academic leader or academic institute that has made a significant contribution to the formal education of students pursuing careers in local governments.

Judie Zimomra served as the city manager of Sanibel Island from 2001 to 2021. Prior to coming to Florida, she worked 22 years in Ohio for Hamilton County and the cities of Worthington and Cleveland. After 42 years in public service, she turned her focus to academia, where she continues to leverage her experience, wisdom and networks in support of her students.
