Fellow FCCMA Members:
I hope everyone is having an enjoyable summer! It’s hard to believe Summer is nearly over, and the kids are returning to school. I’m optimistic that you were able to relish in some fun family time this summer! There are a few things we want our members to know.
Firstly, registration for the Florida Dinner during the ICMA conference is now open. This dinner is a great opportunity to network with other members from Florida. Please join us for this beautiful rooftop dining experience with incomparable skyline views of Columbus. The Association is providing 20 Complimentary student registrations for dinner. If you are interested in the student registration, please contact ncooper@flcities.com to register. It will undoubtedly be a great meal and a wonderful evening of fellowship.
Our committees are now meeting to select the training and professional development opportunities that will be offered this Program Year. The committees would love to have your input and ideas for webinar topics, district trainings and conference sessions. Please submit any ideas you may have to FCCMA staff at fccma@flcities.com as soon as possible. You don’t have to be on a specific committee to submit your ideas for consideration, and more input provides more robust programs!
The FCCMA Committees also need best practice articles and member profiles to be highlighted in the monthly Professional Management Matters e-newsletter. If your organization is working on an initiative that you think will benefit other cities, please share it with us. That’s how we learn from one another. Also, it only takes a few minutes to submit your member profile to be published in the e-newsletter. This allows members to get to know you better.
Lastly, the mandatory ethics trainings deadline of September 30th is quickly approaching. To meet the ethics requirement, you can access any archived FCCMA Training opportunities, read a book on ethics or participate in a virtual ethics training.
I wish you success and good health always,
Lori
