FCCMA will hold its next webinar January 7th, 2016 from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm on “Fire Assessment Fees: Current Trends and Methodologies.”
As local governments continue to seek alternative revenue sources to sustain local government services, much attention and consideration has been given to the fire assessment fee. What processes work? What funding methodologies are available? What are the key issues and pitfalls? What technical and legal requirements need consideration? Camille Tharpe, Senior Vice President of Government Services Group will be addressing these questions and more in a very informative session on fire assessment fees. The first half of the program will provide a primer on the benefits and pitfalls of using special assessments and the steps necessary to successfully implement the program. The second half of the program will provide information on ways to update existing methodologies to fund current unfunded aspects of programs. This session is designed both for those who have existing assessments and those considering the idea of pursuing this assessment process.
