On November 19, 2018 FCCMA District III members came together with students from three UCF Student Chapters: UCF ICMA, Emergency Management Student Association, and the Urban Knights. This was the first event scheduled in District III that was focused solely on networking, both with existing members and students who are interested in serving in the field of public administration. The attendees met at Bar Louie in Orlando, across from the main UCF campus, and practitioners shared their experiences with students who discussed their career goals and asked questions about various aspects of working in local government. A special thanks to the following District III members who were in attendance: Norton Bonaparte, Sanford City Manager, Austin Blake, Kissimmee Assistant City Manager, John Titkanich, Cocoa City Manager, and Matt Fuhrer, Cocoa Assistant City Manager. District III will be working on future networking events, so stay tuned for more opportunities in the future to get to know your fellow members a bit better!
