As most of you are already aware and, I hope, registered for, the 2024 ICMA Annual Conference will be held in Pittsburgh, PA, September 21-25. The Conference will provide many opportunities for local government professionals from around the world to connect and learn from their peers. I understand that this year’s Annual Conference will have a focus on emerging trends and challenges, while providing potential solutions to help us prepare for the future. FCCMA is planning to host a reception during the ICMA Conference, and I am looking forward to your joining us for this festive fellowship. Registration details will be available soon.
Our hardworking and dedicated FCCMA Committee members have started their work to select the training and development opportunities to be held in the upcoming year. A survey will be sent to full members soon for topic ideas that keep managers up at night. I strongly encourage you to participate in the survey, as your input will help our Association to develop training topics that are particularly targeted and useful to us.
FCCMA is always seeking best practice articles for our monthly newsletter. This is an opportunity for you to share and highlight what you are doing in your local jurisdictions that would be useful to local government professionals. If you or a staff person would like to write a best practice article, please notify our staff at fccma@flcities.com.
Don’t miss our upcoming Free Coaching Webinar on August 1 on remote work. Register today to secure your spot. As a reminder, our webinars are very informative and provide a means to accumulate ICMA-CM reporting credits. I am sure other certification programs such as AICP will allow you to report them for certification maintenance credits as well.
Thank you!
You matter!
