Citizen Engagement
November 14, 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. EDT
ICMA Practice Areas: 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 14

Program Summary
Social media has changed the concept of citizen engagement. How do/should local governments engage their residents in their government decision-making? This month's webinar will focus on the importance of structuring your citizen engagement initiatives to improve strategic planning and strategic initiatives while fostering a sense of community and empowering residents to help shape the future of their communities. More specifically, this month's webinar will examine what the city of Port St. Lucie and St. Lucie County did, in partnership, to inform their citizens during a successful half cent sales tax initiative. The presenters will offer tips and tools they considered to better engage their residents and improve results.

Presenters
• City of Port St Lucie Strategic Initiative Director Kate Parmelee
• Assistant Communication Director Sarah Prohaska
• St Lucie County Board of County Commissioners' Communication Director Erick Gil
