LARGO – Facilities Manager

Oversees all administrative, technical, and managerial functions of the Facilities Management Division of the Public Works Department. Work includes coordinating the design, construction, maintenance, and repair of all City facilities, including building expansion and modification. This position is responsible for planning and directing the activities of the Facilities Management Division and construction, maintenance, and custodial services programs. Assignments are broad in scope, requiring independent judgment and decision-making. The position reports to the Assistant Public Works Director.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Construction Management, or a closely related field and seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in an administrative and supervisory capacity with a working knowledge of all the divisions of the Public Works Department; or an equivalent combination of education and experience*
*If a candidate cannot be identified with both a Bachelor’s Degree and related experience, those with a requisite combination of suitable education and experience may be considered with a commitment to complete a Bachelor’s degree in an agreed upon timeframe.
At least two (2) years of supervisory or lead experience such as hiring, scheduling, performance management/improvement, or professional development
Certified Facility Manager preferred
Valid Driver’s License
