May 8 is the deadline to pre-register for the Annual Conference. After May 8 you can still register onsite but the registration cost will be higher.
This conference has a great line up of sessions.
Two pre-conference sessions will be held on Wednesday: So You Want to be a City/County Manager and a session on ethics: Learning from Others’ Mistakes. Both sessions are free.
Thursday will begin with the Opening General Session featuring Carey Lohrenz, the Navy’s first female Tomcat F-14 fighter pilot. The first round of concurrent sessions will follow the Opening General Session. This year FCCMA collaborated with the members of the Florida Local Government Coalition for the sessions. The Florida Police Chiefs Association, the Florida Local Government Information Systems Association, the Florida Association of Code Enforcement, the Florida Public Relations Association and the Florida Municipal Association for Safety and Health will lead some of the sessions.
At the Career Development Lunch Bob O’Neill, ICMA’s Executive Director will share his insight regarding professional management and what changes or anticipated changes he observes during his travels around the country. There is a separate $35 charge for this lunch.
If you do not want to attend the lunch, visit the Good Ideas Center and talk with the vendors. Thank them for supporting the Association. Lunch will be served in the Good Ideas Center.
Dot Inman-Johnson, Midway City Manager, will share her inspiring story at the Inspirational Breakfast on Friday. There is a separate $35 charge for this breakfast.

The Annual Business Session will include lunch and the board of directors will be elected for the new program year. The afternoon will feature a Special Awards Program. Don’t miss the luau on Friday night.
The conference ends Saturday morning after breakfast. Political Humorist Paul Mellor will deliver an entertaining message on running for the Office of the Presidency.
